Inspire Others

When I leave this planet, I would like to have done 2 things.  First, done the best I could to let the people in my life know how much I truly loved them.  Second, make an impact, inspire someone to do something that they may not have done without my help.

There are a few things in my life that people have said to me, “I don’t know how you do XYZ, but you have inspired me”.  These comments have come to me about getting through my divorce, having the courage to get married again, being a full time professional, mom and wife, then most recently blogging.”

I am not looking to be something different than I am, something better than I am, I’m just simply living my life.  I take the twists and turns as I best can to learn and grow.  I have always been an open book, I don’t ever mind talking about my life.  Blogging has of course made this a much more public platform and I think that is awesome.

Receiving texts, emails, comments from friends, family and even strangers is what motivates me to keep writing.  As long as people are reading, I will continue to put my thoughts out there.  Even if they aren’t the popular opinion (that has never mattered to me).  Last week I hit 2000 reads on my blog.  I’m not sure if in the grand scheme of things that is a lot or a little, but to me, it was exciting.

In the 6 months that I have been actively blogging, my blog has been read 2000 individual times.  I mean, that seems pretty incredible.  Last week, I also received my 10th follower on WordPress, 9 of these followers are people I don’t know.  I have 64 individuals who specifically follow my blog page on Facebook.  This is better than I could have ever imagined.

This hobby that I love and look forward to, has reached so many people.  As a matter of fact people in 10 different countries have read my blog.  Friends while they are traveling and individuals that I know that already live outside of the U.S.

With all of those stats, nothing will feel as good as a conversation I had with a girlfriend last week.  Over text we caught up, since it has been more than a few months since we have seen each other.  I asked how life was treating her, she told me.  I feel like she is always pretty candid with me, because she knows that I don’t judge her and can even understand a lot of what she is going through.

Out of no where though, she said “I really love reading your blog”.  I was just like, wow, thank you.  I mean, I see that people ready my blog, but I don’t actually know who these individual people are every day.  So, having a friend whom I love and admire tell me that she reads it regularly, really made me feel proud.  Then she told me that my blogging inspired her to start journaling.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Everybody should have an outlet for the thoughts in their head.  Lets face it, sometime we have WAY too many thoughts to have actual conversations about them, we may never stop talking.

Friends, Family and Stranger…you are why I continue writing this blog.  I mean, I really enjoy it, but seeing that people are actually reading has encouraged me to continue on this platform.  So, I ask you this, if you follow me and feel inspired, share it with others.  Thank you!
