#40Notes40Days: Someone who is mourning

Written by:

Aunt Tracy-

It has been 3 1/2 years and I know that you are still hurting.  Still mourning the loss of someone you loved so much.

All of a sudden, he just wasn’t there anymore.  People tell you that it is OK and you should just “move on”, but what do they know?

How can anyone tell you that your mourning period should be over?

We all miss him.  He was a unique spirit in our lives.  A gentle giant, that I was fortunate enough to call uncle for a short time.

He will be forever remembered, around for so many big events.  The memories can’t be taken away or replaced.  The kids will know how much he loved them and how truly happy he was when he was holding them.

Tragedy struck and there is a sadness that will forever be in our hearts.  You take all the time you need to mourn.  Just know that we are all here, we all love you and we all loved him.  Lastly, he would want you to live your life and be happy.  After all, you are still here!

I love you!

I love the “just move on” crap. It’s so easy to say. What a moving post. There is no time limit for mourning but with people like you to offer support, hopefully it will assuage some of her grief.
