Manic Monday Check-In: 3/14

Well, as far as views go this was my 2nd best week ever on WordPress.  With 782 views, 288 visitors, 542 likes and 94 comments, I am extremely pleased with my stats this week.

This was one of my comments from a fellow blogger that was just so beautiful, I had to share it.   “Not only are you a wonderful blogger….a wonderful supporter…..a wonderful friend…..you are a wonderful mama! Glad to call you a friend. You are just a light in my life!” This was in response to a post about my kids.  Thank you LaurelWolfeLives.

I read a blog either last week or the week before that said something like, “I Don’t Care How Many Followers You Have.”  This was from a very successful (in my opinion) blogger. It isn’t about how many followers you have, but how many of those followers are engaged. More than that, how many you engage with.  I try really hard to respond to each comment left on my blog, like everything that is thrown my way and accept all awards that my followers have nominated me for.  Spreading the Love as I call it.  I take time every day, to go into my reader and read blogs (easily 50-100) a day.  Commenting and Liking as I see fit. I believe that for my blog to be successful, I have to be supportive and engaging of other blogs as well.  Just a thought for you!

My blog was read in 26 countries this week, new to the list (I believe) Belgium and Saudi Arabia.  Also, as something fun I was nominated for a tag “Around The World In Barely A Minute” by Bibliophile, thank you for that, that was fun to see the different countries other people’s blogs travel too.  Also, far and away seeing the countries that show up on my map is the best stat, the most exciting for me.

You’re Not Alone In This World nominated me for the Spirit Animal Award, which I am also thankful for.  It is crazy how many people would choose to be turtles.

Lastly, I want to thank  Musings Of An Insomniac for being my Teenage Spotlight for this week.  I have really appreciated this blog each week and the different points of view that the Teenagers have to offer.  I’m always looking for more teens that are interested in writing a Guest post.  If you are interested check out…Calling All Teenage Bloggers.

Now in personal news, I believe I lost 1 pound last week, LOL.  Hey, it is something.  I have two long days at work in a row, both today and tomorrow I will be working 12+ hours, the reward, I am off on Friday.  Lastly, my 8 year old got his tonsils and his adenoids removed on Wednesday.  He was a wonderful patient, spending time with him for 3 days was amazing. We have had that much time just him and I since his sister was born nearly 7 years ago.
