#40Notes40Days: Someone who is a Peacemaker

I was so lucky to have you as a minister for 8 years (I think) in my adult life.  In that time you opened my eyes and my world to how much we need to progress and transcend as a people in order to find peace in the world.  I know that you did the same for many members of the congregation as well.

Making us more aware of what it means to have open hearts and open doors.  Helping to write an all inclusive welcome statement for the church.  Making more people from different backgrounds and walks of life feel welcome at Newburg UMC.

Working so hard on the Nets for Malaria.  So that around the world, so they could safely sleep.  We raised so much money for that mission while you were a part of our church.

You have a way of talking, welcoming and warming up to people that makes nearly everyone happy.  When Jordan was just 1 year old, she was so comfortable with you that she called you “My Arsha.”  She looked forward to seeing you and had already developed such a wonderful, rich relationship with you.

You were a pillar of strength when I needed it the most.  I am thankful that you were my minister and taught me more about what it means to be a Christian.

Thank you for being a friend, a confidant and a mentor to me.
