Tuesday at Ten {Ready}

After 18 months of preparation and getting “READY”, last Friday night, June 3rd at 11pm, we set out on our adult vacation.  Paul and I were going to Myrtle Beach with our friends Brittany and Eric. We weren’t supposed to leave until the morning around 6am.  Though my friend Brittany and I had been chatting all day in excitement and she said, “are you sure you don’t want to leave tonight?”  Well…ask and you shall receive. We were READY to get this vacation started!!

It was a really long drive, but it was so worth it.  My hubs drove the whole time.  Not because all the rest of us didn’t offer, but because it is his thing to be in control of the car. The rest of us were READY to keep him company for the drive, so that he could stay awake and we could make it to Myrtle Beach!

Just a few pictures of us in the car on the way there.  First one is the fog in the mountains somewhere in West. Virginia, Second Me and Britt, Third a scenic view as we entered into North Carolina.

After stopping multiple times, enjoying our trip down and hitting one traffic jam, we arrived in Myrtle Beach at 2pm.  When we got to the hotel, our room wasn’t READY to check in to.  So…what did we do?  We were READY to get our vacation under way.   There was a place just outside our hotel called “The Boathouse”, so we got some drinks and appetizers.

Paul and I are always READY to try different beers. Brittany isn’t a huge beer fan, but she pointed to the flight and said “get that and share it with me.”  So, again, ask and you shall receive!  The four of us shared the flight.

We then got to go check in at the hotel.  After checking in, we made our way to the pool for a little bit of relaxing in the sun.  After a couple of hours we all got READY and headed towards the beach for the evening.  We used UBER for the first time, for those of you who have never used it, you should.  We took it 6 times throughout the weekend and all 6 trips were free!!!

Anyway, we were headed to the Tiki Bar.  We had read about it online, lots of beer on draft and lots of different seafood.  We were all READY to try all kinds of seafood.  I had my first po boy sandwich ever, and it was made with fried Oysters. MMMM….oysters!!!  We had an awesome waiter named EJ.

After dinner, we walked the boardwalk.  We stopped and got a couple of drinks, put our feet in the water and enjoyed Fireworks on the water at dusk.

Sunday, we got up, READY, and headed out of the hotel for breakfast.  Paul had found a place online that had a breakfast buffet.  It was AMAZING.  We all stuffed ourselves with food and then made the walk from the restaurant down the beach back toward where we had been the day before.  It was a long walk, but so fun for all of us.

Before we ever even left for vacation Brittany and I talked about going on the SkyWheel. Both boys weren’t having anything of it.  However, as we walked down the beach and I was looking at it, I said to Paul “now is the time to go on it.”  He said “why is now better than any other time.”  I honestly didn’t know, but you know what, it must have been the right time, because he agreed to go on it!!  As long as we got him a drink first!!

Brittany and I loved it, the boys were still a little unsure!  It sure was beautiful.

After that we spent a couple of hours on the beach. The boys played in the waves, while the girls sat in some cabana chairs and chatted.  Cabana chairs that a couple asked us if we wanted as we were walking, because they had already paid for them and were getting READY to leave.

That night we went to a place called Broadway at the Beach.  We had a wonderful Pot of Seafood.  Lots of shell fish and many other things.  We walked around the place, had some ice cream and just enjoyed the warm weather.  Then we went to the dueling piano bar.

Monday, we spent most of the day doing very little.  Laying in bed, relaxing and resting. Remember when I told you earlier that I room wasn’t READY when we arrived?  Well, they gave us some tickets to Medieval Times to apologize for that.  So, we went there for dinner Monday night.  It wasn’t anything special, but it was a free dinner!

We left the hotel around 7am on Tuesday morning and made our way back home to Michigan. It was another long drive and we were READY to be home.  But, it was so worth it to have a wonderful 4 day vacation with my hubs and our friends!!
