Yesterday while we were driving home from our weekend trip up north, I started thinking about this post. What would I write about? How many things had I done for myself over the last week. The answer is so many things.
Paul was out of town last week, which meant single mom duty. This also meant, not as easy to create that space and time for me. That being said, I think that I really did manage it quite well.
1.) Monday-Thursday I worked out in my basement. I wasn’t able to go to the gym, but I didn’t let that stop me from making time. I got my Wii all set up, used the balance board and the Biggest Loser. I worked out for at least 35 minutes with the video game all 4 days.
2.) While working out I listened to the Brain Candy Post Cast which I LOVE.
3.) I finished up one book: The Platinum Age of Television. Started a new book: Designing Your Life. (Both on my Ipad that I read during workouts.) Continued a book: Big Little Lies. (Paperback that I read while at home or on the road)
4.) While Paul was gone I went to bed early, I slept in the middle of the bed and I fell asleep to TV shows that I enjoy.
5.) I made myself a smoothie every single morning I was home. I planned my food for lunch, snacks and dinner. Which meant that I had healthy options and was keeping myself fueled all week.
6.) At the Water park with my family, I allowed myself time in the cabana to relax with a drink. I went on the water slide by myself multiple times.
7.) I took the last minute opportunity to go to a meeting an hour away for my job. The meeting was NOT time for me, however the drive was. I listened to my music, I talked on the phone with my sister and I just got revved up for my long day at work. Going to the meeting meant that I would have a 12 hour day.
8.) The other positive to that was that since I took a morning meeting, I was able to take a few hours off on Friday. That means I had time to find a new swimsuit top for myself for the weekend. With time to actually try stuff on and not rush, I was able to find a top that I loved and felt amazing in on clearance for $14.00 originally $70.00!
9.) When I took my daughter to dance on Friday, I had to take two of my sons with me. Instead of stressing out about them and what they were doing the whole time, I sat with my friend and caught up on what has been going on!
I am sure that there were more, but I am going to stop there!! Finding ways to feed my soul, make myself happy and refuel myself so that I can give the best of me to my family and friends is EVERYTHING.
Such a busy week! Glad you were able to take some time for yourself! [also, thanks for taking the meeting for me ;)]
