My affirmation this morning read…”My body knows how I can get better.” Well if that isn’t the truth.
I have already walked around my room long enough to add up to 1000 steps for the day. Sometimes I don’t get the opportunity to get in all the steps I would like, so I create opportunity. While my 5 year old is still asleep in his bed, I wander around my own bedroom to get steps in. If I walk around the part of my room that is empty, I can get 20 steps. Which means I go around about 50 times to get 1000 steps. I put a TV show on and I can get in 1000 steps in about 10 minutes!
After that I pulled up my favorite “Yoga with Adriene”. I always type some arbitrary word into the YouTube search when I am deciding on my practice for the day. Today is was Yoga for a Monday. I was greeted with a few choices, so I chose a 26 minute practice for Yoga in the Morning. Yoga is exactly what my body needs most of the time. Some deliberate, concentrated, slow movements. Calming and Grounding, everything that I don’t tend to be naturally.
I posted this in my Let’s Get Healthy weight-loss accountability group yesterday. “Can we talk real achievements today? 1. The amount of wedgies has significantly decreased! 2. I wore a bathing suit with no skirt attached yesterday for the first time in 2 years! 3. Even though it isn’t an official weigh in, my scale read under 160 this morning, for the first time in 2018 😊 7lbs is 28 sticks of butter… that sure adds up when you are talking about where those sticks have melted off your body!!”
My body knows just what it is doing. I am moving more, breathing deeper and getting healthier every single day.
