Dedicate: Observe

Today’s theme was Observe.  Become an observant of your practice and of your breathe.  For me it was a little more than that, I got to thinking about how I have to observe a bit more in my day to day life.

I am a super active participant in my life. Which don’t get me wrong, I know is a very good thing.  I don’t let life pass me by, I enjoy spending time doing all sorts of things with my friends and family.  Though, I think that it could serve me well to observe more.

My background professionally is Early Childhood Education.  We are taught in our school, in training’s and in the classroom to observe the children.  Let them play and don’t interject unless they invite you in to what they are doing.  Sometimes we think we know what they are doing, but really we don’t because we haven’t observed we have only assumed.

It honestly never really occurred to me, until right now to do the same in my everyday life.  Not just with my children, but with anyone who I am around.  I want to start observing what is going on a little bit more, instead of assuming that I understand what is gong on.  Trying to wait for an invitation to be a party of it, instead of just interjecting myself!
