Holding myself accountable is something that I truly enjoy. It really helps me to stay on task and focused. My current accountability is here, you. Though…I am not really sure anyone cares or would “yell” at me if I fell off the wagon. Just the idea of disappointing is good enough reason for me to not falter.
So here we are, 3 weeks in, my 3rd accountability Wednesday and I am feeling great! Still haven’t smoked. We are still staying strong on the low-carb diet. We are somewhere between low-carb and keto. We don’t test our ketones or anything, but we are super aware of what we are eating and we don’t “cheat” at all.
I have also determined that I really ate the word diet and I am going to try harder to not use the word. Way of Eating is more correct. I am being very aware of what I am eating, I am certainly not eating less. It also isn’t a body image thing either, I don’t want to portray that to anyone, most of all my daughters. I know what size my body is supposed to be and I know what it looks like when I have allowed myself to eat whatever I want, whenever I want. There is a happy medium!
My body feels so much better when we are low carb, which obviously ends up being low gluten as well. Gluten tastes so yummy, but really does a number on our body. I can feel an actual physical difference when this is removed from my diet (but, I LOVE all kinds of beer) so it will not be forever removed.
Anyway, the scale agrees with my way of eating too. I am down to 158.2, which is down 10.6 pounds in 3 weeks. I am also down another 2.75″, for a total of 13″ in 3 weeks.
Let’s talk about a couple more things that I believe are really benefiting my health since the new year. I have done yoga EVERY DAY. Yes, this benefits my physical health, but when I show up to the mat and calm my mind, it breathes so much life into my mental health as well. I am listening to podcasts more than I am listening to the radio. I am writing on here and reading more than I am watching TV. These may seem simple and you may be like, how is that helping your health? Well I believe that I am putting more substance, true words into my brain as a result of these choices. Which in turn, is wonderful for my mental health! I have read 3 books already this year and I am into my 4th.
Do you have any Wellness goals, tips or successes to share? I would love to hear them!
Have an Amazing Wednesday.
