If this is your first week of 2019 reading my wellness post, you can catch up here Best Life, Best Life: One Week In, Best Life: Week 2, Best Life: Week 3. I am not super concerned about getting myself to a specific goal weight. I am just concerned about keeping myself healthy. I am judging this way more by the way I am feeling on the inside, not just the outside.
I really kicked this into gear on January 2nd, so I am 4 weeks in now.
First and probably most important, I haven’t smoked now in 1 month and 27 days. Though, not even close to the longest amount of time I have gone…every day is one more day.
My husband and I have been working on low-carb (keto) way of eating. I struggle to post that it is keto, because well Paul and I don’t test ourselves to see if we are in ketosis. Though, that is what my recipes, my snacks and our way of eating are! Anyhow, we eat like this Monday through Friday pretty typically, but had gotten very lax between the holidays. We decided to have 1 full month of no cheating, from January 2nd until February 3rd (super bowl Sunday). This means no carbs, which means no beer. This is a WAY OF EATING, it is NOT a diet. It really works for us and I even find it fun to look for and create new recipes!
Well…I jumped on the scale this morning and I was down to 157.6. That is a total of 11.2 pounds in 4 weeks. I did my 4 measurements and I am down another 1.5 inches, for a total of 14.5″. These numbers aren’t as drastic as they had been over the first few weeks, but really I am OK with that.
Another thing, I have done Yoga every single day for the last 28 days. Pretty typically first thing in the morning, for between 20 and 40 minutes, whatever Adriene has in store for the day. That has helped my core, build my muscles and my strength. Most importantly though, it has helped to keep me centered and balanced. Like I said in the beginning, I am more worried about how my inside feels then how my outside looks.
