Happy Birthday Jordan

I woke up about 4am on April 23rd with very mild contractions. 5 days ahead of schedule.

I knew what labor looked like as I had just had my first child 17 months prior.

I knew that I had some time before things got serious and I needed to relax. I put the movie Juno on ❤ That movie got me through my second pregnancy. My then husband, Matt was still sleeping, I didn’t wake him.

Once everyone was up and moving around we ate breakfast and then took a long walk in hopes of getting this thing started. Well, it halted it. Matt had to be to work at 1 and I told him to go. No sense taking a day off if nothing was happening.

It was my son’s naptime, so I too rested. I woke up a couple hours later to some big contractions. I called my husband at work to let him know, and told him that I’d keep him posted.

I spent the next few hours with my son, knowing they’d be the last of just us 2. Around 6 my Mom came over and I told my husband that he needed to make his way home.

Around 7 we were on our way to the hospital. We got settled in our room at the alternative birthing center by 8. My Mom arrived shortly thereafter and one of my good friends. I walked around the room the entire time.

Everything was progressing along. I was at an 8 and my water hadn’t broken yet. Just before 10, I thought I had to use the bathroom, that was followed by “no, dont.” Lol, time to push. They got the midwife who said you’re not at 10 yet, but if you feel like you need to push, push.

With 1 push my water broke, with the second Jojo came into our world. 8lbs 9oz 22 inches long. Born right between a Detroit Redwings game and a Detroit Tiger’s game at 10:02pm.

I love you Jordan LeeAnn. I can’t believe that my little squeaky voiced toddler is in the double digits. You are smart, kind, helpful and beautiful. I’m blessed to be your mama.
