Stewards

Just a thought for today. Are you stewardly with all that you’ve been given? Or do you try to control everything you’ve been given? Until this morning I didn’t know that trying to control was the opposite of being stewardly. I’ll work harder to be the latter.

3rd Week in a Row

For the 3rd Wednesday in a row, my children have a snow day.  That means no school, which means, no work for me. I have been beyond thankful for leaving my 9 to 5 really ever since I submitted my intent to leave.  However, over the last few weeks, with 5 snow days in allContinue reading “3rd Week in a Row”

Thankful Days 15-19

Day 15…A mystery I am thankful for.  God, that is my answer.  Now some of you may say that my faith in God must not be strong if I think it is a mystery, but I don’t believe that is true.  We know this life, these stories from the church and from the bible, butContinue reading “Thankful Days 15-19”

  11. A gift from God that I am thankful for…my divorce!  Yes, you read that right.  I know that God had a hand in the way that my break up with my ex played out.  At the time of course, I asked God why it was happening to me??  But now, I know itContinue reading “Thankful Day 11&12”

Prayer

I don’t really know who the person was that taught me how to pray.  I mean, I was raised in the church so I just always remember doing it. As I grew, praying looked different to me.  I realized it didn’t have to be quite so formal.  I didn’t always have to have a coupleContinue reading “Prayer”

Ten Minutes: Living in My Body

Do you ever think of your body as a friend?  Do you have compassion toward it?  What would it look like for you? -Shauna Niequist This was the question at the end of my devotional this morning.  It really spoke to me, so I knew that I needed to write about it. From Sunday toContinue reading “Ten Minutes: Living in My Body”

Embrace the Joys of Summer

My devotional today is about embracing the body that God gave to us.  Not sitting on the side lines because of what we think that we look like.  Truth is…hardly anyone is actually even paying attention to what it is is YOU look like. “I want to find any and every excuse to stay covered,Continue reading “Embrace the Joys of Summer”

Ten Minutes: Letting Go

First of all, last night, right before I went to bed I prayed to God that he would give me a sign that letting go is the right thing. In my head it is and every time I think about it, I know it would be so good, but something in me just isn’t quiteContinue reading “Ten Minutes: Letting Go”
