Manic Monday Check-In: 4/11/16

Hello All!!!  I hope that you had a wonderful week and that you are looking forward to starting an amazing week.  I know that I am.  I have a couple of long nights ahead at work, but I have already got my Monday off to a good start, so I know that I will be good.

As far as my blog goes, Making Time For Me had a great week statistically speaking.  781 views, 303 visitors, 398 likes and 98 comments.  As of yesterday there are 378 people following Making Time For Me.  Also, this past week, someone in the Ukraine read my blog which excited me so much that I told my husband!

I had a great first week in the April AtoZ Challenge and I look forward to continuing with that this week.  Also, I have a few more weeks of Teenager Spotlight posts scheduled, but if you are a teenager or know a teenage blogger who hasn’t yet participated, please connect them to me.  Calling all Teenage Bloggers.

Now for my personal check-in.  Yesterday, I weighed in the heaviest I have been in my life outside of pregnancy and losing the weight after pregnancy.  I am 23 pounds heavier than I was when I got married, both times.  So, at 26 and at 31 I was very easily at that weight, so I believe that is my ideal weight.  The further and further I get from it, the more blah I feel!

Now, it most certainly is all my fault.  I haven’t been to the gym in over 3 weeks (until this morning that is), I also have consumed a lot of junk food and craft beer (that definitely doesn’t help).  So, I am getting myself back into gear.  For no one other than myself.  A fellow blogger told me yesterday that it doesn’t matter what size I am, only how I feel.. Which I 100% agree with.  Seeing as I am the SAME size now, as I have been my entire life, I wear the same size pants (the seams just scream a little more) and shirts as I always have.  I just don’t feel the way that I want to.

In the beginning June Paul and I are going to Myrtle Beach SC and I will be wearing a bathing suit.  I will wear one weather I lose any weight or not, just for the record, I’m not vain like that.  However, I would really like to tone my legs and stomach (the two places that I care all my weight) so that I feel great out on the beach!!!

I started today.  My alarm went off at 4:40, I was at the gym before 5.  I rode the bike for 15 minutes, 4 miles and 100 calories burned.  Then I did 3 sets, 10 reps a piece on 3 different ab machines.  I have already packed my lunch full of a lot of lean protein, hard boiled eggs and beans, plus fruits and veggies.

I can do anything that I put my mind to, I know that.  Just sometimes my mind wanders a little too far 🙂  Oh and I also downloaded a few apps on my phone 30 day arm, abs and butt. We shall see.  I will post my progress on here, mostly just to hold myself accountable, so don’t feel like you have to care at all!!!

  1. Great work! I have always noticed after about 8 weeks of being healthy I can really notice it. I know what you mean about the uncomfortable weight, when it just sits there and you wish there was an easier way then exercise. My current issue has been I saw a picture of women in bikinis on the titanic being offered cake, they were all saying no. The next image had a picture of the titanic sinking and it stated, Just Eat The Cake. Worst image, I keep justifying stuff. So, if you have any tips you use for motivation I am super interested.
